Knalveilingen takes the protection of your personal data seriously. Here we explain what data we process, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have — in accordance with the GDPR.
What data do we process?
- Account and contact details: name, e-mail address, phone number, password (encrypted).
- Billing and delivery details: address, and for business buyers optionally company name and VAT number.
- Bidding and order data: your bids, won lots, orders and payment status.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe and/or Mollie; we do not store full card or account details ourselves.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser information and cookie preferences.
What do we use it for?
- Performing the agreement: bidding, checkout, delivery and customer service.
- Complying with legal obligations, such as record-keeping and age verification for alcohol.
- Improving our website and, with your consent, measuring visits and showing relevant ads.
- Sending transactional e-mails and — if you opt in — our newsletter.
Legal grounds
We process your data based on performance of the agreement, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interest (e.g. fraud prevention) and/or your consent.

Sharing with third parties
We only share data when necessary: with sellers to fulfil your order, with payment providers (Stripe, Mollie), delivery/parcel services, and with e-mail and hosting providers. We have data processing agreements in place with these parties.
Never longer than necessary
For financial records, the legal retention period of 7 years applies.
We keep account data for as long as your account is active.
Always in control
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and receive a copy of your data, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent already given.
